This is one of my favorite writing samples to look at historically. It was the beginning of DSL (end of dial-up) and I was hired to write a consumer-oriented Web site that gets nontechnical folks excited about broadband, demystifies DSL, and allows people to sign up for service online.
I organized the site, spec’d it for the designers, and completed all writing.
The language is priceless. Some was from the marketing guy: Click and fly, Surf in Telocity time. The rest was my own wishful thinking: If you can plug in a toaster and push a few buttons, you can set up your Telocity connection.
